Many of my favourite contemporary street-photogs in there! I’m a huge fan of Jo Paul Wallace, Ksenya Tsykunova and Jack Simon. But the finalists entries are so solid, I’d have had a hard time picking up the 3 winners.
And don’t forget to vote for me in the International Street Photography Awards. The polls are closing in 15 minutes, and it will be a close call for the last spots. Warning, the Facebook like doesn’t count as a vote, you must sign up to be able to vote.
UPDATE: polls close at midnight GMT so you have one hour left to vote!
Sautillante, Strasbourg, February 2013. I take the smile of her parents as an authorization to publish. Plus I had been freezing for so long, waiting for someone to show-up, that I couldn’t resist shooting this little girl jumping around. I realize that, for nocturne street photography, the 35mm has an edge over the 50mm because of its greater depth of field. It’s easier to have your subject in focus, even when it’s moving. This one is taken at f2, 1/30 sec and iso 1000 and I don’t think it could be “that” focused with a 50mm.
